English Learning Programmes

We deliver purposeful, engaging, and personalised learning programmes in small groups. These sessions target various areas of the English curriculum, fostering essential skills for success in English throughout school and beyond. Currently, we offer two programmes: The English Club and Wonderful Writers. Explore details below.

The English Club Weekly Classes

Our English Classes redefine traditional "English tutoring" through meticulously planned, purposeful, and engaging sessions utilising high-quality texts. Designed to captivate children's interest, the approach nurtures excitement about reading and writing while enhancing their skills and instilling confidence. Each week features a sequence of purposeful tasks tailored to specific year groups and aligned with national curriculum objectives. Led by highly experienced teachers, the classes comprehensively cover a spectrum of English and Reading skills, including comprehension, grammar, punctuation, spelling (GPS), writing and exam preparation.

Wonderful Writers Holiday Workshops

Years 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8

Our Wonderful Writers holiday workshops provide the perfect opportunity for your child to dive into the enchanting world of writing. They explore various genres and experiment with different text types, fostering a love for diverse writing forms and laying a solid foundation for future writing success. Suitable for all storytelling levels and abilities, Wonderful Writers guides your child through their initial steps as writers, supported by abundant resources and a continuous process of discussion, reflection, and improvement. Our workshops vary in duration based on the length of holidays, each tailored to offer structured, age-appropriate support for primary KS2 & KS3 children.

How does The English Club operate?

Each learning programme extends over a half term, lasting approximately 6 weeks. Children stay within the same group consistently, receiving a dedicated folder upon enrolment containing all essential resources and tasks for the duration. Guided by a Zen Tutoring teacher, sessions comprise a blend of tutor/teacher support and independent work.

At the conclusion of a term's learning programme, parents receive comprehensive feedback detailing their child's progress, offering insights into strengths and weaknesses. This feedback highlights areas for further development.

Our mini classes feature enjoyable and focused English activities, enriching children’s learning and preparing them for year 6 and beyond. With spaces quickly filling, express your interest to secure a spot on the early bird list!
