Number Learning Programmes
Zen Tutoring provides high-quality, engaging, and personalised numeracy support through small group learning programmes. These sessions focus on various areas of the Mathematics curriculum, cultivating essential skills crucial for success in numbers throughout school and beyond.
The Maths Club
Our Math programmes have revolutionised traditional tutoring, providing engaging spaces for children to consolidate learning and boost confidence with high-quality teachers in small groups.
Aligned with the national curriculum, our programmes concentrate on key math areas specific to the covered year group within a 6-10 week period. Our mastery approach leads students through concrete resources, pictorial representations, and activities, expanding their understanding and ensuring a fluent grasp of concepts.
During the hour-long session, classes are structured into three areas: a 10-minute fluency task testing basic retrieval skills, followed by new learning covering year group concepts, and concluding with a mix of problem-solving tasks, reasoning questions, and challenging multi-step problems. Weekly homework is assigned tied to the new learning segment.
How does The Maths Club operate?
Each learning programme extends over a half term, lasting approximately 6 weeks. Children stay within the same group consistently, receiving a dedicated folder upon enrolment containing all essential resources and tasks for the duration. Guided by a member of The Zen Learning Club team, sessions comprise a blend of tutor/teacher support and independent work.
At the conclusion of a term's learning programme, parents receive comprehensive feedback detailing their child's progress throughout the programme, offering insights into strengths and weaknesses. This feedback provides valuable information to parents, highlighting areas for potential further development.
Spaces for the upcoming Maths Club learning programmes are released in stages: first to parents with existing group spaces, then to those who expressed interest but initially did not secure a spot, and finally to the general public. We're delighted to see spaces quickly claimed, so if you're interested, please let us know to add your name to the early bird list!
