The SATs Club Weekly Classes
Years 5 & 6
Our SATs Prep learning programmes offer small group support to pupils in Years 5 and 6, focusing on various areas such as reading, comprehension, grammar, punctuation, spelling, problem-solving, reasoning and mathematical fluency. During a SATs Prep session, children will analyse past papers and recurring exam-style questions, receiving key instructions and strategies on how to respond to different types of questions. To ensure familiarity with diverse question formats and develop a toolbox of core techniques for optimal performance in an exam setting, children will encounter a variety of test types. Tailored to the length of the term, our SATs learning programme provides bespoke and structured year-group-appropriate support for primary school children.
The 11+ Club Weekly Classes
Years 3, 4, 5 & 6
Our 11+ Prep learning programme offers small group support for pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6, focusing on key areas including English, Maths, and Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning strategies. Throughout the programme, students engage with various question types and formats tailored to their year groups, gaining familiarity with essential strategies for secondary school entrance exams across the UK. We highly encourage initiating 11+ practice at the earliest opportunity to ensure students become acquainted with the exam's question types well in advance of their test day. At Zen Tutoring, we support children in building familiarity from year 3 onwards.
How the Exam Prep Clubs Operate
Each learning programme extends over a half term, lasting approximately 6 weeks. Children stay within the same group consistently, receiving a dedicated folder upon enrolment containing all essential resources and tasks for the duration. Guided by a member of the Zen Tutoring team, sessions comprise a blend of tutor support and independent work.
At the conclusion of a term's learning programme, parents receive comprehensive feedback detailing their child's progress throughout the programme, offering insights into strengths and weaknesses. This feedback provides valuable information to parents, highlighting areas for potential further development.
